Croatia is a Balkan state with a coastline on the Adriatic Sea. It has been an independent republic since 1991, bordering on Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary and Italy. Croatia is a perfect country for tourists, an archipelago with a population of 4.2 million people and such popular tourist destinations as Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Split, Zadar and others. The country offers natural attractions including mountains, forests, lakes and rivers, as well as historical sites dated to the Roman Period and medieval castles. Tourists can also enjoy Croatia’s lovely beaches. The water temperature is between 18-24 degrees centigrade all year round. More than 1,200 islands are part of Croatia’s territory, and you can visit some of them during your stay.

The country, often referred to as the “Paradise of the Mediterranean,” has much more to offer, like Middle Ages-style old towns, national parks, vineyards, museums, hikes and bicycle tours, ancient fortresses and UNESCO World Heritage sites. The most important of those is the National Park Plitvička Jezera, which incorporates 16 lakes and a multitude of waterfalls. Other recommended sites are the Dioklecijanova Palača in Split, the Paklenica National Park and the Krka National Park. These attractions make Croatia one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe today.

Tourists can also enjoy the festivals and many cultural events in the country, such as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival or the OPATIJA Festival. Croatian cuisine has been affected by the many cultures that passed through the area over the centuries, like the Italian, French, Turkish and Austrian cuisines. The result is most delicious.

Croatia is also an important destination for business, with more and more companies choosing to transfer their operations to the country. It offers competitive tax rates and living costs that are lower than in most European countries. Many choose to buy properties in Croatia as an investment because of its proximity to important European countries and its growing economy, one of the fastest growing in Europe. Croatia has free trade agreements with more than 50 countries around the world, which makes it easier for companies to export services and products from it. Croatia is the ideal place to open a business because of its low taxation, educated work force and great internet connection. The country provides tax reductions if your business employs 50 people and up.

Dubrovnik is a historical city in Croatia with a population of approximately 50,000 people. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Balkans and the whole of Europe – a city of rich history and culture, a gorgeous beach town known for its Old City region, recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. The Old City of Dubrovnik is also its main attraction, with medieval architecture and a varied cultural heritage influenced by the Roman Empire, Byzantium and the Renaissance. It is so beautiful in fact, that it actually served as a set for many well-known movies and TV series, among them A Game of Thrones (Season 6) and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1991). The Old City has been very well preserved, and includes many historical buildings such as the Romanesque Church Stolna Crkva sv Lovre, the Franjevački Samostan Cathedral, the Franciscan Monastery Sv. Vlaho, the Dominican Monastery, and more. Visitors can tour the area on foot on their own, or join one of the tours available by local guides.
