Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and the largest city in the country. It has over 800,000 residents and is situated in the north-west corner of Croatia. Other popular sites in Zagreb are the Stone Gate, the Dolac Market, Zagrebačka Avenue and the Strossmayerovo Promenade. Zagreb is known for its great cuisine and its wine culture. Zagreb has many green areas and parks, too, of which the most popular are Bundek Park and Jarun lake.
