The Kingdom of Jordan is a Middle Eastern country bordering on Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Syria. It is one of the oldest populated areas in the world, with archaeological findings dating its history to 9000 B.C.(!). Jordan has been under the occupation of many empires over the years, including the Romans, the Ottoman Empire and the British Empire. Nowadays it has a population of 9.5 million. Its capital city is Amman and its official language is Arabic.

The tourism industry in Jordan is blossoming, with revenue from it up more than 50% over the past five years. It isn’t difficult to understand why Jordan attracts so many tourists – it offers something for everyone: from historical sites such as Petra (the second most visited tourist attraction in the world), to breathtaking natural wonders such as the Wadi Rum desert; from the ancient relics of Jerash, an old Roman town, to the gorgeous coastline of the Red Sea and the Dead Sea.

Petra is definitely the most famous historical site in Jordan, built by the Nabateans in 312 B.C. and chosen as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World in 2007 by the readers of CNN Traveler magazine. But Jordan also offers unique natural landscapes, including deserts, mountains and valleys. The capital city of Amman is worth visiting, since it presents many examples of traditional Muslim architecture, as well as excellent authentic Jordanian food. Jordan is famous for its Bedouin culture, which you can encounter at various locations across the country.

Jordan has been an important way station on world trade routes for a thousand years. The country has many natural resources such as oil, phosphates and potash. Today it is one of the most successful countries in the Middle East. Its economy is fast growing, and real estate is one of the major driving forces of this growth. In fact, Jordan’s real estate market grows by an average of 6-8% annually. A few years ago, the Jordanian government has started investing and developing huge tourism and trade ventures, in collaboration with other countries and foreign companies. Shrewd businesspeople who have noticed the trend moved in to invest in these ventures and initiate private projects in the field. Real estate investors detected the potential for high profits in Jordan due to the accelerated development, and this is the reason why real estate investments in Jordan have been in constant growth for a number of years.
