Paphos is an incredibly ancient city with a special charm. According to Greek mythology, it is the birthplace of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. Today it is a beautiful modern city with colorful markets, unique archaeological sites, museums, excellent restaurants and fun tourist attractions.
One of the most important archaeological sites in Cyprus is situated in Paphos – the Kings’ Tombs, which has been recognized as a World Heritage site by the UN. It includes burial tunnels that have been very well preserved and are most remarkable. Other sites worth vising in the city and near it include the Aphrodite Water Park with some crazy water slides, a rope park, the archaeological garden, the delightful village of Tala, the Troodos Mountains that get snow in the winter, and of course – wonderful beaches, the grand shopping mall and the markets, tavernas and caffes.
