I enlisted in the IDF Aviators Course in 1969, served as a pilot on light transportation aircrafts the Air Force at Dov Airport until April 1976, and continued as a reservist until 1982.
In 1987, I became an aviation instructor at the KANFEI HA’EMEK flight school at the Megido landing strip, and in 1994 I was accepted full-time to the KANFEI HA’EMEK airline company (now kown as ISRAIR).
We flew a Short 330, then an additional Short 330 was bought, followed by a Short 360. This aircraft fleet was sold quite quickly, and ATR 42s were bought. The company’s activity was transferred from Megido to Sde Dov, the company changed ownership (it was purchased by Nochi Dankner), and its name was changed to ISRAIR. We started flying non-stop to Eilat.
In October 1997 I was appointed a captain in the company, and in 1999 – an instructor.
Two new Boeing 737s were purchased, and the company expanded its activities to international flights.
In 2000, I completed aircraft type transition training at Brighton, but a few months later – due to the outbreak of the Intifada, international flights were reduced significantly, and I was back flying in-country.
In the summer of 2004, I did aircraft type transition training on Boeing 757s, and I was back on international flights. I soon moved on 767s. The company had introduced trans-Atlantic flights to New York and the Far East on 767s.
Next, the company changed its aircraft fleet from Boeing to Airbus, and leased two Airbus 320. At the same time, I completed aircraft type transition training on Airbus 320, and then 330, in Toulouse. The company continued its flights to New York and Nigeria with Airbus 330s.
In April 2015, when I reached 65, I finished my commercial flights at ISRAIR, and since then have been employed as a flight instructor at Lifeair
